Updated: April 22, 2026
BIRMINGHAM, AL. — Ramsay High School Football has officially released its 2026 Spring Practice Schedule, marking the first opportunity for the 2026 Rams to take the field and begin preparations for the upcoming season.
The 10-day spring session will run from May 4 through May 15, providing players and coaches valuable time to install schemes, evaluate talent, and build team chemistry ahead of summer workouts. Spring practice is a critical period for high school programs across Alabama, allowing coaching staffs to assess returning starters, develop younger players, and introduce new systems on both sides of the ball. For Ramsay, this spring marks the foundation-building phase for what the program hopes will be another competitive year. Coaches emphasize that spring ball is not just about competition, but development.
“This is where we lay the groundwork,” said Head Coach Ronnie "Pop" Jackson. “The habits, discipline, and effort established in May carry over into the summer and fall.”
Spring Game Finale at Alabama A&M
The Rams will wrap up spring practice with a highly anticipated Spring Game matchup against Mae Jemison High School on Friday, May 15 at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Alabama A&M University, giving players the exciting opportunity to compete in a collegiate atmosphere. Facing Mae Jemison provides Ramsay with a great opportunity to close out the spring session.
Community Support Encouraged
Ramsay fans, students, and community members are encouraged to come out and support the team as the 2026 Rams take their first steps toward the fall season.
